Brief description of the project
The cluster’s goal to contribute to the solution of complex, real-world water issues and to ensure a sustainable water supply (SDG 6) entails countless challenges. For example, inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration demands high translation skills. The ambition to actively help shape transformative processes raises questions about the role of activist researchers. The implementation of new technologies requires methodsfor involving a variety of stakeholders. The ‘Inter- and Transdisciplinarity Leadership Program’ (‘INTRALead’) addresses these challenges and empowers the cluster’s young researchers to be able to work inter- and transdisciplinarily. Through specific qualification programmes, the participants’ awareness for problem-solving beyond the disciplinary and professional boundaries is increased, and they learn about good practices from the field of sustainability research. ‘INTRALead’ thus makes a vital contribution to the development of competences within the cluster and to the qualification of professionals in the region (SDG 4). Furthermore, ‘INTRALead’ supports the exchange between the cluster’s projects through its ‘ThWIC Lecture Series’ and contributes to the establishment of a shared culture of learning within ThWIC.
