ThWIC aspires to bring state-of-the-art research regarding water into the centre of society. In order to reach this goal, the cluster aims not only to develop technologies, but also to improve water literacy in society. Water literacy involves comprehensive knowledge about water and thus the empowerment to make informed decisions when dealing with the resource. In the economy, chances for new solutions and products will be created through an improved access to water knowledge. These solutions and products can be tailored to anticipated water issues early on, proactively, and appropriately.
The field of innovation ‘Understanding and Explaining Water’ pools together the cluster’s projects that are concerned with the social foundations of sustainable and fair water management.
